The earliest ancestor of the Steiner family Ulrich Steiner, probably a native of Lorch, married with Ursula Wieland, was first documentary mentioned at his death on April 15, 1590. His son Georg Steiner was born about 1665, he in turn had a son Christoph Steiner, who was born about 1613 in Alfdorf according to the register of deaths and married with Anna Herrsch. Their son Hans (Johannes) was born on August 19, 1641, in Alfdorf. The second wife of this Johannes was Barbara Meyer, the second of their five children was Hanß Georg Steiner born in Alfdorf on April 12, 1676. This son Jerg Steiner (also called Johann Jacob) married Anna Barbara Müller from Welzheim, at the birth of his children he was named as citizen and weaver in Walkersbach next Urbach. Two of his three children are ancestors of this Steiner branch.
Son Jonas Steiner, born in 1723, entered service as woodworker on the "Kreehenhof" next Steinenberg, in the year 1750 he married into the farm Krehenhof, his wife became Anna Catharina Kengetter (Köngeter) born in 1731. His son Johannes Steiner, born in 1755, was mentioned as farmer of the Krehenhof. His eldest son Jung (junior) Johannes Steiner married Rosine Hof from Walkersbach on the Krehenhof in 1798, they had 10 children. Their son Johann Georg Steiner, born on the Krehenhof in 1809, married Anna Katharina Schurr from Waldhausen next Lorch in Steinenberg in the year 1832, and they had eleven children. Later he moved with his family to the farm "Eulenhof".
Johannes Steiner, born on the Krehenhof in 1839, married Creszenz Koch from Buch in Rohrdorf next Nagold (Black Forest). There she was born in 1842. He was worker at the railroad in Wildberg (Black Forest). Their children were born in following places: Krehenhof, Wildberg, Unterthalheim, Waiblingen and Neustadt next Waiblingen. Also their son (Christoph) Gottlieb Steiner, 1871 born in Wildberg, was very mobile, at last he was worker at the railroad in Cannstatt. He married Margarethe Wünsch, born in Heidelberg in the year 1875, in Ravensburg in the year 1896. Their first child still was born in Einsiedel/Switzerland, the other children were born in the Stuttgart region. Hedwig Steiner saw the light of day in Hofen/Neckar in the year 1910. She married Max Köger in Unterrot next Gaildorf in 1934.
