The earliest ancestor of the Köger family Hanß Adam Köger, carpenter and "Inwohner" (old expression for inhabitant) in Haslach next Sulzbach/Kocher, is first documentary mentioned in the parish register of Sulzbach/Kocher at the birth of his daughter Maria Dorothea, the baptism was on August 16, 1704. Due to a gap in the marriage register between 1632 and 1712 it was not possible to trace Köger family further back.
Son Georg Adam Christoph Köger was born in 1710, he "copulierte" (married) Eva Maria Horlacher in Heerberg in 1729. Eleven children all born in Haslach testify their fertility. Son Friedrich Köger, born in 1739, was mercenary in "Hägelinshöflen" next Sulzbach/Kocher, where he also married Anna Maria Moll in 1764. the fifth of seven children was Johann Georg Andreas Köger, born in 1779, he becam later "Wägner" (coach builder) in Sulzbach/Kocher. With his first wife Catharine Juliane Windmüller he had eight children.
One of the daughters was Katharina Köger, born in Brünst in 1819. Her son illegitimate born in 1845 became the name Jacob Köger. In 1867 he moved with his mother to Rappoltshofen. However, he married in the same year Johanna Barbara Bohn in Sulzbach. They had 10 children. Son Georg Christian Köger was born in Sulzbach in the year 1867. He was farmer and cooper in Bröckingen part of township Unterrot, and also innkeeper (inkeeper of the "Lamm"). With his second wife Katharina Hinderer from Gaildorf he had 9 children. Son Max Köger was born in Bröckingen in the year 1910. In Unterrot he married Hedwig Steiner in 1934.
